Worcester Bosch

As we’re sure you’re aware (if you’ve been keeping an eye on our Facebook page!), we were delighted to have been Worcester Bosch Accredited in 2016 which means we’re able to offer up to a 10-year guarantee on some of our boilers! We thought we’d take this opportunity to give you a bit of the background of Worcester Bosch, provide an explanation as to the benefits, and what this Accreditation means for our business.

History

Originally founded in 1962, Worcester became part of the Worldwide Bosch Group in 1996, also becoming the UK market leader in domestic boilers. Their UK headquarters is based in Worcester, where all the main functions of the business are located including the manufacturing of gas boilers. They currently offer a range including gas and oil boilers, hot water cylinders, renewable technologies such as heat pumps, as well as controls and accessories.

They have a commitment to the highest standard of manufacturing, and this commitment over the last 50 years has led to their boilers named Which? Best Buy awards for 9 years running. They also received a Royal Warrant for supplying boilers to The Queen’s Sandringham Estate!

Benefits

Worcester have their very own Product Reliability department that thoroughly test every gas boiler, oil boiler, heat pump and solar heating panel that is produced. This means these products are put together to withstand extreme conditions to ensure they still perform as they should. A few of the tests carried out include;

  • A drop test performed by the Reliability department where they drop a boiler onto a concert pad to test the durability.
  • Test boilers are strapped to a shaker table for 3 hours to replicate traveling over 3,000 miles of worldwide transport.
  • Electrical tests are carried out on boiler circuit boards by subjecting an electromagnetic test at 4,000 volts.
  • 20,000 electromagnetic surges at 3,000 volts are subjected to Worcester boilers, to make sure their boilers can perform under extreme power surges.
  • Boiler components are tested at the development stage, by running a simulated 15-year life cycle of a boiler.

Worcester also have other highly skilled departments such as Purchasing, Research and Development, and Manufacturing. Worcester’s quality control over the whole company means only the best components are placed in each product and each product that is built is logged to a service engineer and is documented. This quality control can help with any faults or failures that may occur and ensures that Worcester act quickly to handle any issues with their products.

Worcester also maintain a Total Quality Initiative (TQI) across the whole workforce, which focuses on a zero-defect policy, mitigating the likelihood of defective products. These are just some of the reasons why Worcester products are so reliable!

What this Means for Us

A Worcester Accredited Installer is a heating engineer specialised in Worcester installations and providing unique services. The ‘Worcester’ brand has specifically tailored accredited installers to ensure standards and procedures are met.  Using a Worcester Accredited Installer means, simply, that you will receive a high-quality installation service.  The ability to provide an extended guarantee on products is one of the main benefits! The standard guarantee is approximately 2 years, but we’re able to offer up to 10 years guarantee to our customers, which is great. This also provides our customers with a sense of security and trust in their product, installer, and company. We are also able to give advice on new Worcester products in the market and provide approximate pricing for these. As Worcester Accredited Installers, we are also able to provide a prompter service as we are more knowledgeable on Worcester products than a regular installer. Further to this, we are also able to provide useful information and tips about your central heating system.

If you would like to learn more about our Accreditation, or need assistance with boiler maintenance or repair, please don’t hesitate to get in touch!
