The following steps will definitely help you save money in the long run. By reducing your water bills, you’ll find you’ll have spare cash for paying other bills, or even a nice new car or holiday! Take a look at our tips below:
It may seem simple but turn your tap off whilst brushing your teeth. You’d be surprised at how much water you are wasting daily by leaving the tap on. Better yet, brush your teeth whilst you’re in the shower! It’s also a really good idea to get into the habit of turning unused taps off regularly. It’s very easy to leave them running whilst you quickly do other bits, but you’ll save water and money by turning them off.
Make sure you take note of a leaking tap and don’t just leave it. Ask a plumber to come around and inspect if you are concerned that it may be a bigger issue. By taking the time and money to fix the problem early on, you are saving money in the long run.
Get into the habit of only doing full washes. It’s tempting to put a wash on as part of your weekly routine, but make sure you’re being efficient with it!
Many of us have a dishwasher installed but ensure you are fully stacking the dishwasher before putting it on and avoid hand washing items. A full dishwasher cycle uses more water than you might imagine so again, it’s important to consider being as efficient with this as you can.
These simple tips can really make a difference to the cost of your water bill, not to mention you’re being more environmentally friendly, so try to get into good practice!
